TUESDAY NIGHT TRIO’S
LEAGUE RULES
1.
GENERAL
The league will be known as
the Tuesday Night Trio’s. The league will remain a Trio’s league until such
times as it is deemed the whole league should be dissolved.
If there are any problems with
the League or the Bowling Centre, during the season they should be brought to
the attention of the Secretary or a member of the Executive Committee. The
Secretary or Committee member will deal with the problem by speaking to a
member of Management. They will then advise bowlers of the outcome accordingly.
At NO TIME should a bowler approach any member of staff with their problem
unless advised to do so by a member of the Executive Committee.
This League or the Centre will
not accept verbal Abuse to the Staff or the misuse of Megabowl’s
equipment. Bowlers who are seen or heard committing any of the above will be
removed from the League. Megabowl has the right to expel anyone from the centre
at their discretion.
2.
COMMITTEE
The executive committee is
made up of the following:
The President
The Secretary
The Treasurer
The general committee consists
of the Executive committee plus the Captains of each Registered Team. Where a
member of the Executive Committee is also a Team Captain then the Teams vice
Captain should attend any General Meetings.
3.
SCHEDULE
The Season will run for a
number rota’s agreed at the AGM. Team schedules will be issued normally 1 week
before commencement of the league.
4.
TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team will consist of a
maximum of SIX registered players. Three players will play each match from the six
registered players. A Team may only register new players if by doing so it does
not increase it to more than six. A player must be de registered if there are
already six registered.
If a Team is unable to field
a three-person team then they can play a blind up to a maximum of two.
Players are to be registered
with The Secretary at least one week prior to their first week of play. Details
of new players wishing to be registered after the start of the season must be
given to the Secretary.
Each registered player has the
option to have a League Card which entitles them to discounts on Drinks, Food
and Bowling. The card costs £1 and the bowler needs to provide a passport sized
photograph to the secretary. The full £1 goes to the Millbrook Youth Bowling
funds to support them.
No card presented to staff no
discount!
Players may transfer between
teams during the season however the following persons must all agree to it:
a.
Team
Captains of the teams concerned.
b.
League
President.
c.
League
Secretary.
Tardy players are allowed to
arrive late but may not join a game after the first ball of the fifth frame has
been bowled, but may bowl the remaining games.
Pacers are only allowed to bowl when there are less than three
bowlers on a lane and have the agreement of both teams to do so.
Team Line Up is to be entered by both teams to the consoles
promptly.
5.
HANDICAP SYSTEM
Players will be allocated a
handicap system based on 80% of the difference between their average and a
score of 200 up to a maximum of 70.
Initial handicaps will be retained for the first nine games from a previous
league, during that period you will not qualify for individual handicap
trophies. However after this period the handicap will be re-calculated and
thereafter re-assessed after each league match.
New bowlers will be allocated a handicap on the day in accordance with
the average they bowled on the day until they have bowled a total of nine games
after which the handicap will be re-calculated and re-assessed after each
match.
If a bowler is registered, or
has not played a total of nine games before the halfway point of the season
their handicap will be calculated as above but minus 10 until they have bowled
a total of nine games. It will then be re-calculated and re-assessed after each
match.
This does not include bowlers
with a handicap brought forward from the previous season.
6.
SCORING SYSTEM
The scoring system will be as
follows:
1 point per
player for each game won (including handicaps) against corresponding player in
opposing team, giving a total of 4 points per player.
2 points for the overall team
score (including handicaps) giving 6 points.
2 points for
the overall total (including handicaps) giving 2 points.
Thus giving
a maximum of 20 points to be won each week.
When a team is unable to
attend with three players up to two blinds may be played. Each blind score will
be a total of 100 pins scratch plus 60 Handicap. Total 160.
7.
RE-ARRANGED MATCHES
Removed.
8.
ENVELOPE MATCHES

9. FORFEITURE
OF A MATCH

bowl on any given week then the opposing team will play against three blind
scores of 160.
10.
TEAM
WITHDRAWAL
Should a team withdraw from
the league, the fixture list will remain unaltered and those teams yet to play
the withdrawn team will bowl against a blind score of 480 pins. The withdrawing
team will forfeit any team or individual trophies for which they have
qualified. Any team that has lost points to the withdrawing team in the current
rota will have those points re-credited to them provided they have bowled at
least the following: 161 pins per game per player. 481 pins per team total.
1441 pins overall team total. All scores including handicap.
11.
LEAGUE FEES AND SUBS
League fees and subs are to be
collected by one member of the team and paid to the treasurer prior to
commencement of bowling. The monies collected cover lineage, trophies, fun
night prizes and a supplementary fund. The supplementary fund is collected for
when Megabowl set up contract league payments in the future. Any monies left in
the supplementary fund will be returned to each team at the close of the
season.
Any team dropping out during the
current season automatically forfeits their contributions to the supplementary
fund.
12.
ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS
League fixtures will be worked
out for an even number of teams. Should the league have an odd number of teams
the unopposed team will bowl against a blind score of 480 pins (NO Handicaps)
per game.
13.
TROPHIES
The League Secretary will
purchase league Trophies.
To qualify for any trophy a
player must have completed a minimum of 24 games or 30% of the games available
per season. No individual or team may qualify for more than one trophy in any
category, nor may they win both the scratch and handicap trophy in any
category. Should an individual or team qualify for both, the Scratch Trophy
will take priority.
A maximum of six trophies will
be purchased for teams qualifying for final league positions.
Team game and series trophies
will be awarded to only those team members that bowled in that winning game or
series.
14.
TIED POSITION
Should two teams be tied for a
position at the end of the league season the handicap pinfall will decide the position. If this still leaves the teams in a tied position,
then the scratch pinfall will decide the position and if this still leaves a
tied position then the positions will be decided by a play-off.
When a tie exists in the
allocation of a handicap trophy the scratch pinfall will decide the winner.
